Oops! had to restore the most recent files on the download server

Hi All,

In addition to restoring the most recent version of unicluster.org we also had to restore a more recent version of the backend storage machine that was serving up the unicluster and unicloud files.

You should be able to download the latest version of UniCluster from our site now.

Sorry (again) for the confusion.

Regards,

Bill.

Latest version of unicluster.org restored!

Hi All,

We recently moved our server for unicluster.org and during the move an older version of the site was restored. The site was still working but several changes were lost and some user accounts were missing. If you can't log into unicluster.org please email univa at support@univaud.com and we will figure out what is wrong.

We have restored the site to approximately mid July - which is much better than what we were running for the last two weeks (a much older version of the site).

Sorry for the confusion and error.

Bill.

UniCloud Beta - updated with latest code

Hi All,

UniCloud Unstable ( UniCloud Beta link) has been updated with the latest version of UniCloud. Each month we release a new unstable version of the software and it is posted to the site. This version of the software is the output of the 'Independence' sprint.

The next sprint is 'Kodiak' and will be released in about 1 month from now.

Automation in the Cloud

Cloud computing is pretty much storming the service provider market. Less than two years ago Amazon was the only game in town. Now there are many Infrastructure as a service offerings out there all competing to deliver a virtual machine with a particular flavor of OS. It is easy to create an account and start launching your own virtual machines in the cloud and for a while it is a lot of fun. However after you have used these cloud infrastructure services for a while it becomes obvious that 'all you get is a bare machine with an OS' and nothing else.

UniCloud Unstable

UniCloud is built on the UniCluster framework and is evolving rapidly. We are adding new features to the product each month. Since this is 'unstable' code we do not provide suppport on it but we will answer questions on how to get the software installed and running in your environment.

UniCloud 2.0 is available now from Univa.

Hi All,

UniCloud 2.0 is officially released. If you are interested in trying UniCloud 2.0 to create Public, Private or Hybrid cloud infrastructures please contact us at http://www.univaud.com/about/contact/

UniCloud 2.0 leverages the UniCluster 5.0 framework. UniCloud 2.0 is packaged as software Kits that install on top of UniCluster changing a physical cluster management and provisioning solution into a Cloud provisioning solution for Public, Private and Hybrid Cloud infrastructures.

UniCloud supports the following cloud environments:

Public Cloud
* Amazon EC2
