UniCluster 5.0 is a completely new way of building Technical compute clusters and even clouds (with the UniCloud 2.0 addition). UniCluster 5.0 provides the following new functionality:

• Bare Metal Provisioning up to 10,000 nodes.
• Abstracted UniCluster Kits, able to support different package managers.
• Multiple Operating System version, family, architecture, OS in one kit
• RESTFul Web Service API for all components
• Complete command line interface for all tools and management
• New Hardware and Software profiles, allows for greater flexibility in provisioning nodes.
• Subordinate Installer increases scalability from 1,000 to 10,000+ nodes in a single cluster
• Open Solaris Support (email us for access)
• New Tortuga framework for UniCluster 5.0 and UniCloud 2.0
• Flexible network creation, management and control
• Simpler Install and Setup

In addition to new functionality every major component of UniCluster has been refactored, and improved:

• New Configuration File Manager (cfm)
• Improved Diskless and Imaged provisioning
• Improved update mechanism.
• Refactored Kit structure and simplified Kit building tools
• XML templates for hardware and software profile definition
• Improved Microsoft Windows and Linux dual boot
